5 questions
How many Pokémon does Tree Co. include?

All 1,025 Pokémon across all 9 generations, from Bulbasaur (#001) to Pecharunt (#1025). Every entry has full base stats, abilities, learnsets, evolution chains, and type matchups. You can view each Pokémon as official artwork, pixel sprites, or Showdown sprites — and switch between them at any time.

Is Tree Co. free?

Yes — free to download with no account required. The free tier includes the full Pokédex, interactive type chart, team builder (up to 3 teams), and 3 daily AI queries via Ask Dexter. Optional upgrades unlock additional features — see Pricing for details.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Tree Co. caches the complete Pokédex data (approximately 200MB) on your device automatically. The Collection Pack or Dexter Pro unlocks a full offline download of all data including moves, abilities, and competitive sets. The AI assistant (Dexter) also runs entirely on-device using Apple's Foundation Models — no internet connection needed at all.

What devices does it support?

iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 or later. Currently iOS only. Tree Co. is built with SwiftUI and takes full advantage of iOS 26 features including Liquid Glass design, home screen widgets, and on-device AI via Apple's Foundation Models framework.

What Pokémon app has home screen widgets?

Tree Co. includes 4 home screen widgets for iPhone: Pokémon Spotlight (a daily featured Pokémon with type and stats), Living Dex Progress (your collection completion percentage), Team Roster (your active team at a glance), and Team Health (type coverage summary). All widgets update automatically and use iOS 26's Liquid Glass design language.

5 questions
Is there a Pokémon app for shiny hunting?

Yes. Tree Co. includes a dedicated shiny hunting toolkit supporting 11 methods — Masuda Method, SOS chains, radar chaining, Dex Nav, Friend Safari, horde encounters, and more. Each method has a live odds calculator showing your current probability based on encounters completed, Shiny Charm status, and method-specific multipliers. You can run multiple hunts simultaneously and track your full shiny collection in one place.

Is there a Nuzlocke tracker app?

Yes. Tree Co. has a built-in Nuzlocke mode with route-by-route encounter tracking, a graveyard for fainted Pokémon, badge progress milestones, and full party management. You can run multiple Nuzlocke runs across different games simultaneously. Ask Dexter can also provide strategic advice for your current Nuzlocke situation — like warning you about upcoming gym type matchups.

Does Tree Co. have a Living Dex tracker?

Yes. Tree Co. includes a Living Dex tracker that lets you mark which Pokémon you have caught, track shiny variants separately, filter by generation or completion status, and sort by Pokédex number, name, or catch date. Dexter Pro adds CSV export, smart sort suggestions, and a progress widget for your home screen showing your catch completion percentage.

Can I track my Pokémon card collection?

Yes — the Collection Pack includes a TCG card collection tracker. Log which cards you own, track set completion, and browse card artwork pulled from the Pokémon TCG API. You can filter by set, rarity, and Pokémon to find cards you still need to complete a set.

How do I check Pokémon type weaknesses?

Tree Co. includes an interactive 18×18 type effectiveness chart that instantly shows super effective, resistant, and immune matchups for any type combination. Tap any Pokémon to see its full defensive and offensive type profile, including 4× weaknesses for dual-types. Ask Dexter can also answer natural language questions like "What beats Garchomp?" with tailored counter recommendations.

Competitive

4 questions
Can I build competitive Pokémon teams?

Yes. Tree Co.'s team builder shows a weakness heatmap so you can see your team's vulnerabilities at a glance, provides Smogon tier context and usage data for both VGC and Smogon formats, suggests optimal partners and movesets, and exports your team to Pokémon Showdown in one tap. Ask Dexter can also analyze your team and recommend improvements based on the current competitive meta.

What is the best alternative to Pokémon Showdown on mobile?

Tree Co. is the most comprehensive Showdown alternative on iOS. It includes everything Showdown offers for team building — Smogon tier data, usage stats, and team export — plus features Showdown lacks: automatic role detection, a visual weakness heatmap, team health scoring, a Bring-4 planner for VGC, and speed tier charts. Unlike Showdown (web-only), Tree Co. is a native iOS app that works fully offline with no account required.

How do I use the Bring-4 planner for VGC?

The Bring-4 planner (part of the Competitive Pack) lets you simulate which 4 Pokémon to bring from your 6-member team against any given opponent lead. It shows matchup scores, coverage overlaps, and speed tier comparisons for the specific 4 you'd bring. This mirrors how top VGC players mentally evaluate team slots before each match.

How does Tree Co. compare to Pikalytics?

Pikalytics shows usage statistics — it tells you what the meta is using. Tree Co. tells you what to do about it: automatic role detection, team health scoring, weakness heatmap, partner suggestions, and an AI assistant that can answer "how do I beat this team?" Pikalytics is a valuable reference; Tree Co. is a full team-building tool. The two complement each other well.

Ask Dexter AI

3 questions
What is Ask Dexter?

Ask Dexter is Tree Co.'s on-device AI Pokédex assistant. It uses 5 specialized agents — Type Scanner (type matchups), Data Scout (stats and moves), Strategy Engine (Smogon competitive analysis), Lore Reader (design origins and trivia), and Web Scout (live tournament results) — that research your question before Dexter synthesizes a final answer. It runs locally via Apple's Foundation Models for complete privacy. Free users get 3 queries per day; Pro subscribers get unlimited queries plus cloud-enhanced AI.

Does Ask Dexter send my questions to a server?

No — the default Ask Dexter experience runs entirely on your device using Apple's Foundation Models framework. Your queries never leave your iPhone. Dexter Pro subscribers can optionally enable cloud-enhanced AI for more complex analysis, but this is opt-in and the query text sent does not include any personal identifiers.

What can I ask Dexter?

Pretty much anything Pokémon-related: type matchup questions ("What resists Dragon/Steel?"), competitive set suggestions ("What's a good Garchomp set for VGC?"), lore questions ("Why is Gengar based on a shadow?"), strategy questions ("How do I counter Incineroar in doubles?"), Nuzlocke advice ("My next gym is Fighting-type and I only have a Psychic"), and shiny hunting method comparisons. The 5-agent architecture means complex questions get multi-angle research before a synthesized answer.

Privacy

2 questions
Does Tree Co. track my data or show ads?

No. Tree Co. has zero tracking — no ads, no analytics, no user accounts required. All data stays on your device. Ask Dexter runs entirely on-device via Apple's Foundation Models, so your queries are never sent to external servers. Most competing Pokédex apps include ads in their free tiers or require account creation for cloud sync. Tree Co. doesn't. Read our privacy policy →

What data does Tree Co. store on my device?

Tree Co. stores only what you put into it: your teams, Living Dex completion marks, shiny hunt counters, Nuzlocke run data, Dexter query history, and cached Pokédex data. Everything is stored locally via Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Deleting the app removes all data.

vs. Other Apps

3 questions
What is the best Pokédex app for iPhone?

Tree Co. is a comprehensive Pokédex app for iPhone and iPad covering all 1,025 Pokémon across 9 generations. Unlike ProDex and MasterDex, Tree Co. includes a full competitive team builder with role detection, health scoring, and a Bring-4 planner — plus an on-device AI assistant, home screen widgets, Living Dex tracking, Nuzlocke mode, shiny hunting with 11 methods, and TCG card collection. It works fully offline with zero ads, zero tracking, and no account required.

What Pokémon apps have no ads or tracking?

Tree Co. is the rare Pokémon app with zero ads, zero analytics, and zero required accounts — a deliberate product choice, not a marketing claim. All your data stays on your device. Most competing apps (including Ketchup and others with free tiers) include ads or require cloud accounts. Tree Co. monetizes through one-time purchases and an optional subscription instead.

Is there a Pokédex app that works offline?

Yes — Tree Co. works fully offline. The app caches approximately 200MB of complete Pokédex data on your device automatically. The Collection Pack or Dexter Pro unlock a full offline download including moves, abilities, evolution chains, competitive sets, and lore. The AI assistant (Ask Dexter) also runs entirely locally using Apple's Foundation Models — no internet required at all.
